What you should expect from ATF2016 Expo


Overview During 2016 Avaya technology forum, Avaya will take a slightly different stance towards the technical demonstrations in the solutions zone. This year, we will focus on integrated smart solutions supporting your transformation to the Digital Enterprise. The booths will take specific vertical markets as an example, where we will demonstrate the value of Avaya technology to the business. The intent of the vertical market approach is to make the demos less abstract than in previous years. You can translate what you see in benefits for your own organization or discuss your specific application with the experts on the floor. To maintain the technical level of the event, we will have a dedicated ask the expert area where you can talk/challenge/worship technology with Avaya experts. Other than previous years you will also have opportunity to get hands on yourself in our Hackathon area. Below Booth descriptions will give you a sneak preview what to expect at ATF 2016
SMART Public Safety Experience real-world examples of innovative solutions that help address the most common communications problem public safety officials face: lack of SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. While citizens widely leverage advanced technologies with high-speed broadband connectivity and multimedia-capable devices, the majority of Public Safety networks worldwide still provide only basic voice capabilities. Determining location based on mobile cellular networks remains a particular challenge, as explicit location information is locked within devices, hidden behind existing networks that cannot convey this critical information to emergency responders. Avaya can help agencies access and utilize rich data and situational awareness on today’s networks, and also move to the Next Generation of Emergency Services networks that will enable voice, text and video between citizens in need of assistance and the emergency professionals dedicated to serving them.
Smart Venue “The Avaya SMART Venue solution will demonstrate how new & innovative services can be delivered to your valued spectators enhancing their engagement with the event they are attending. We will demonstrate how the spectator experience is enhanced by automatically checking them into the venue and delivering feature rich content that is tailored to the individual (this will include information on their ticket, discount coupons, and access to the digital experience at the event), whilst at their seat we will deliver content that enhances their experience providing them with a range of services (match statistics, beverage and merchandise orders) whilst also providing the ability of the venue to offer tailored enhancements (upset of products and services). The SMART Venue however doesn’t stop at the end of the game as with the fan engagement application we will show how the experience can be continued after the event at their home promoting a greater sense of engagement and fan loyalty. All of this enhanced fan engagement will be delivered over Avaya’s SDN Fx architecture: providing secure, agile and reliable services on an automated core”.
SMART Healthcare Solutions Imagine a Digital Healthcare experience where doctors and staff communicate more effectively with care teams from clean rooms, or dynamically reach global specialists from the Operating Room. See a new patient experience in action--from scheduling, to records access, to e-visits and e-billing, and the use of smart devices to support prescription medication adherence. An efficient, highly reliable Avaya Fabric-based network supports enhanced clinical engagement, so IP-based medical devices become more secure, and Electronic Health Record applications run faster across segmented clinical zones. See how Avaya harnesses the Internet of Things to dramatically improve patient and staff situational awareness , connecting SIP-based devices such as paging systems, strobe lighting, video door controllers, help buttons, nurse call devices, PCs, desk and smart phones, and more.
Smart Hospitality Avaya Smart Hospitality will demonstrate how the connected Guest becomes the “Engaged Guest”. Smart WiFi enables a personal customer experience, from providing “Personal WiFi” to understanding where guests are “right now” on the property enabling intelligent, real-time responses to guest needs. Guests require a safe experience including data security. SDN Fx provides secure networking for guest network data, PCI transactions, business traffic, CCTV, and voice all on the same physical network, simplifying infrastructure deployment in new and existing construction. Talk to industry experts about how Avaya’s Engagement Development Platform (EDP) can be used to leverage your existing Property Management System (PMS) to engage your guests on a personal level.
Smart Education Avaya Smart Education Solutions booth will showcase how Avaya enables a modern, digital education experience, for both lower and higher education institutions. The demonstrations highlight best-in-class technologies which improve campus security, enable distance learning, allow new education delivery models, and overall, ensure better student outcomes. We will demonstrate a broad range of digital classroom and school technologies, including
  • Beacon technology for smart workspace and location controlled learning experience
  • Intelligent endpoints for school safety systems, paging, video door controllers and emergency reporting systems
  • Mobile WiFi apps for monitoring and controlling school emergencies
  • Enhanced onsite emergency call notifications.
  • Custom workflows and dynamic response team formation to control the response to in-school events, such as medical emergencies, adverse weather or evacuations
  • Multi-channel broadcast communications to keep parents informed during emergencies and unusual events.

The demonstrations will also showcase a variety of distance and online education capabilities, including

  • Smart On-boarding applications to proactively engage and register students to new classes.
  • Distance learning and the ability to actively attend classes online via video and web collaboration technologies.
  • A Smart Student Exchange demonstration will show how higher education facilities and partner with other institutions, and allow students to seamlessly roam and access their services between institutions.
Avaya’s Smart Education solutions provide greater campus security for students and staff, and ensure rapid response and communication when situations do occur. The broad range of smart classroom, distance, online and hybrid learning solutions provides institutions with cost effective ways to attract, retain and engage higher achieving students and staff.
Smart Banking Avaya, at ATF 2016, is showcasing the “Smart banking solutions” an innovative solution that blends smart communication, computing devices, smart kiosks, and customer service applications. The solution enables banks’ customers to digitally complete any transaction of their choice without the need to visit a physical bank branch. Using advanced data analytics, Omni-channel capabilities, video-conferencing and online and mobile applications; Avaya solutions enables banks’ “Digital Customer Journey” that transforms traditional call center operations to deliver digitally-enabled customer experiences for increased loyalty and business growth.
Some of the solutions that Avaya will be demonstrating at ATF:
  • How the future of customer service in banking is mobile and digital, with mobile linking seamlessly with other channels to give a true omni-channel experience. For instance, a mobile check-deposit application allows the bank’s contact center to initiate an immediate call to the customer if an error occurs, without the customer having to explain the issue again. Likewise, if a customer enters the wrong password on the website, the contact center can be proactive and call them straight away, delivering a faster resolution of the issue.
  • A next-generation mobile customer-service smart kiosk, which can be located in remote areas, by roadsides, in shopping malls – anywhere that members of the public need it, enabling them to have visual access to services. The smart kiosks can be designed to cater for users’ specials needs, such as being equipped for sign language, and allow users to have a video call with a customer-service agent, with the agent being able to push relevant information.
Networking Command Center Avaya will showcase its networking capabilities for enterprise Campus and Data Center solutions. Firstly all demos on the floor will rely on the Avaya fabric networking infrastructure. In the command center booth we showcase a dynamic dual active data center solution that leverages Avaya SDN Fx for automated DC services sharing workloads between 2 DCs for both VMware as OpenSource hypervisor environments. Fabric auto attach of VMs further automate setup of required networking services for applications. The power of fabric multicast is demonstrated using Live IPvideo feeds from both on premise as off premise sources. Off premise we show the value of extending the fabric over an IP WAN. With policy based fabric auto-attach we demonstrate automated secure attachment of users and IoT devices to the network. All managed with a single network controller, Avaya Fabric Orchestrator. ATF delegates will experience world class wifi services while authenticated with Avaya Access control. Throughout the demo area we will demo location and proximity services and interaction with applications based on this information.

The demos show you how our technology can contribute to your business, where we take a specific vertical market as example If you are interested how things work under the hood or want to have a deeper or broader discussion about the technology the architecture or the application of the technology in other market segments, we offer you this booth as a gathering point, where you can engage in discussions with key Avaya technology experts , architects and industry experts . Whiteboarding about architectures, solutions or diving deeper into the demos than can be shown on the booth, is all made possible here. The ask the expect area will be our smartest booth in the Solutions zone.
Hackathon In the hackathon area we will let you touch our gear. There will be a prize for the person that can hack into a stealth SDN Fx network. We will offer you deeper insight in the security aspect of our fabric technology and let you have a go at it. Be sure to bring your own hacking tools. We also offer ATF delegates an SDN-Fx mini workshop to enhance their hands on knowledge about fabric networking. Engineers interested in application development can build an application using Avaya EDP middleware engine. Based on your newly acquired skills in the EDP classes at the event you can build an app in an hour or so. You can win prizes for building the best application.
