Entry Documents |
For entry into Dubai, UAE, your passport must be good for at least 6 months after your departure date. Holders of many nationalities only require a visa on arrival, other nationalities need to acquire a visa in advance before coming into Dubai. Currency |
The currency of the United Arab Emirates is the UAE Dirham Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in Dubai. Visa and MasterCard are universally accepted and American Express is less widely accepted. Smaller businesses often accept only cash. ATMs are plentiful in Dubai, and are the easiest source of cash. Please contact your bank and let them know you will be traveling to Dubai, UAE. Credit or debit cards with suspicious purchases outside of your home country may be seen as suspect, leading to suspension or cancellation of your cards. |
Electricity |
Domestic supply is 220 volts. Sockets suitable for three-pin 13 amp plugs of British standard design are the norm, however it is a good idea to bring an adapter with you just in case. Adapters can be purchased in local supermarkets. Appliances purchased in the UAE will generally have two-pin plugs attached. |
