Jim Chirico is President and Chief Executive Officer
of Avaya, Inc. He assumed his new role on October 1,
2017, after previously serving as Chief Operating
Officer and Global Sales Leader. Jim brings depth of

including integration of all acquisitions and

Jim joined Avaya in January 2008 from Seagate
Technology, where he was Executive Vice President,
Global Operations, Development and Manufacturing. At
Seagate, he led a team of more than 50,000 employees
located in 14 facilities worldwide, successfully
driving step-function change in the operational
effectiveness of the organization.

Galib Karim is the Vice President for Americas
International region, which includes 43 countries.
With 20 years of experience in high technology and
telecommunications industry, he has a broad knowledge

Galib served as General Director for Mexico and

channel manager for the Area North of Latin America of
Bay Networks.

Hugo Sanchez
Former Soccer Player and Mexican Soccer Coach
Hugo Sanchez was born in Mexico City in 1958. Around
1975, he studied high school at the National
Preparatory School Plantel 7 of the UNAM and later
joined the Faculty of Dentistry of the UNAM.
The soccer team of the UNAM saw him born and, although
as a player his greatest achievements were in Spain,
he is one of the most representative players of that
university team, being the case that he was a champion
with that institution, both as a player technical
director.
He was a scorer and figure of the Real Madrid Football
Club in the 1980s, where he coincided with the famous
Quinta del Buitre, a club in which his ten titles won,
four pichichi trophies, one gold boot, and two ball
prizes.
Later he started a new career in the football world by
becoming a coach of the UNAM, since he served from
March to August 2000. In May 2001 he went on to train
the Lion and in September of the same year he again
occupied the bench of the UNAM. Hugo Sanchez
participated in two final phases of the World Cup with
the Mexican national team, those held in Argentina in
1978 and in Mexico in 1986.

Earlier in his career, he held executive and

Motorola/Symbol Technologies, in addition to several
